Dr. Montalvo graduated in Dentistry at the “University of Barcelona”, Spain. He later completed the master’s degree in “Periodontics and Implants” at the same university. After several years dedicated exclusively to periodontics in Spain, she decided to move to USA to expand her training by completing the “International Program in Aesthetic Dentistry” at the “University of New York”, where she was subsequently chosen to remain one more year in the post of “Clinical Assistant Fellow”. By combining periodontics with aesthetics, he is able to rehabilitate the smiles of his patients in a harmonious and integral way. He currently lives and works in Dubai, where he is part of the medical team of the prestigious clinic “Apa Esthetics and cosmetic center” Dr. Montalvo has been the author of numerous articles, and gives classes at international level in numerous meetings.
Past, present and future of porcelain veneers
During the last 40 years the treatment with porcelain veneers has undergone numerous changes. Since the first restorations of this type carried out in the early 1980s, the planning, preparation design, impression technique and cementation of ceramic laminates have progressed significantly for the clinician, pushed by the appearance of new technologies, the development of new materials and the advancement of restorative science. During this presentation we will review the changes with the greatest impact and analyse the supposed superiority of current treatments compared to classical techniques, without forgetting the future prospects for this type of treatment.
